Today we are answering a common question: what is the difference between Deluxe, Deluxe+, and Premier, for all of our racks?

Trunk Racks
While all of our trunk-mounted racks are designed with the safety and security of you & your bikes in mind, there are some differences between the models.
Our Deluxe strap cradles rely on individual threaded tie-downs with a buckle.
Set up and fold your Deluxe trunk rack via a pin that fits into a hole on the carry arm.
Individual rubber feet are on the top and bottom of your rack to help prevent scratches to your vehicle.
Our Deluxe+ trunk racks have many of the same features as the Deluxe racks. However, instead of the pin, set up and folding is done with a quick-use lever.
Our Premier trunk rack has the same quick-fold feature as the Deluxe+ rack but with a few other unique elements as well. These include a wide foot profile to better distribute load and quick-secure cradle straps.
Hitch Racks
Same with our trunk-mounted racks, our hitch-mounted bike racks are also made to the highest standard of quality. However, the differences between them are a bit more complex.
Our regular deluxe hitch rack requires a bit more set up to use. Both the carry arms and gate access are mechanized by a quick release clip.
Additionally, the rack is secured into the hitch via a no-wobble bolt.
The Deluxe Quick-Install rack is unique in that it contains many of the elements of the regular Deluxe rack but is easier to take on and off your hitch. A patented, quick-install hitch insert secures and tightens your rack inside of your receiver hitch, making installation a breeze.
Our Deluxe Locking rack takes this a step further and allows you to lock the rack inside of your hitch, not only making installation a breeze, but also providing extra security and ease of mind.
Our Deluxe+ hitch rack not only has the secure locking feature but also a rapid tilt-away feature for easy lift-gate access. This feature is accessed via a small lever on the side of the rack that makes accessing your trunk super quick and easy!
The Deluxe+ rack also comes with easy-to-use carry arms. The quick-fold carry arms differ from the arms on the deluxe racks in that they come with a button rather than a pin. Just press the button, and the arms snap into place!

Gives you easy access to the rear of your car and allows you to keep the rack attached for long term use.
Our basic Premier rack also comes with the easy tilt feature and quick-fold-arms introduced in the Deluxe+ rack, as well as the rubber quick-secure cradle straps from the Premier trunk rack. The new and unique feature of the Premier hitch rack is the padded spine.
The large padded spine shield protects your bicycles from the rack and an included tie-down strap helps you keep everything in place while you're driving.
The only difference between the Quick-Install Locking Premier Hitch rack and the regular Premier Hitch rack is that patented locking feature!
