    Very Happy

    About a year ago we replaced our 25 year old trunk/bumper mount rack with a Saris trunk rack, which we loved. A couple of months ago we bought an SUV and found out our Saris rack would not work and we would have to buy and install a trailer hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack. I was not going to spend $500+ for a bike rack, especially after paying $300+ to purchase and install the hitch! I did my research, ready many reviews, considered value (cost, quality, ease of use) and decided on the Allen Easy Load. The hitch installation tech put the rack together for me, took him about 20 minutes, so I cannot comment on how difficult it is to install. This past weekend my wife and I loaded it on the trailer hitch, really tightened down the wobble bolt, easily adjusted the rack to accommodate our bikes, easily secured our bikes and away we went. The rack was very secure, no wobble or vibration. While driving you would not even know there is a bike rack on the SUV. Easy to unload the bikes and now that we have adjusted the rack to accommodate our bikes it was a snap to reload and unload our bikes. We are very happy with our Allen rack and the price we paid for it, buying directly from Allen!

    Excellent!

    Easy to assemble and fits perfectly on my truck! I only put it on when I am planning on taking my bike somewhere, so only doing one bolt makes it super easy to take on and off. A little heavier than I would have thought though

    Great bike rack, but…

    I’ve only once transported my bike…just to try it out; and it was just across town. It worked great except the stitching which holds the tie down strap to the back tire came undone immediately! First time using. I think this bike hitch rack should come with at least 2 extra tie downs for each wheel. Apparently, Allen doesn’t even sell them. Other than the tie down problem, it seems to be a wonderful sturdy rack. We’ll be trying it out on the road starting next week. I’ll let you know. Kinda nervous about the straps in general.
